osu! Event #4 - Can I haz beatmap?

Mappers were challenged to make a beatmap inspired by old styles. Choose an old map and try to take inspiration from it, while also applying modern mapping techniques to put a new spin on it.
Rules For Participation
- The song you are mapping must have a ranked or approved standard map from 2011 or prior, with >100k plays. (https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets?q=ranked<%3D2011)
- Maps should not be longer than 5 minutes in drain time
- Maps must be made in the osu! standard game mode.
- You may participate alone or as a team of 2 people, in which case the prize will be split.
- You may not submit a map that has been uploaded to the osu! website before the start of the event.
- Your map should be submitted with a short text, explaining some of the ideas that you used for your map, to help us better understand creative decisions when grading.
- All content in the map must adhere to this server's rules (e.g. no NSFW, or excessive use of language).
Grading
Maps will be graded based on 6 categories (graded 0-5):
- Song representation: How well does your map represent the song?
- Map consistency: Is the mapping consistent and does the difficulty of the map scale properly with the different parts of the song?
- Pattern creativity: Are creative patterns (slider, circle patterns) used? Do they make sense with the song?
- General quality: Is everything snapped and timed correctly? Is there a fitting background, combo colours? Is it hitsounded properly? Is the flow appropriate? Do the difficulty sliders make sense? Bonus points may be awarded for storyboards.
- Era representation: How well are old mapping techniques applied?
- Modernization: How well would the map be received by a modern audience? How does you map contrast and compare with the original?
